Susan Kronenberger, OTR/L works with Robbyn Laufer, Clinical Director of Occupational Therapy at Parkaire Consultants, providing sensory integration therapy to adults and children of all ages with a variety of neurological and developmental impairments.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, Kansas. She is currently licensed by the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy, and the Georgia Occupational Therapy Association. She has had over twenty five years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in the areas of adult rehabilitation, home health, private rheumatology practice, and for the last 15 years, pediatrics. She worked for 13 years as a school based Occupational Therapist in Cherokee County, Pickens County, and the Cartersville School Districts. Her experience as an Occupational Therapist in school settings gives her insight into functional problems children experience in classroom settings. She enjoys working with clients’ teachers to find ways to assist them become more successful and comfortable in the classroom, as well as at home and in community settings.

Obtaining additional training in the latest techniques and treatment modalities, provided by experts in the field, is an ongoing endeavor for Susan. She has been trained in the use of Samonas Sound Therapy, Therapeutic Listening, the Wilbarger Brushing Protocol, the Astronaut Training Program for integration of vision, sound, and movement; and Handwriting Without Tears. She is a certified Irlen Screener for “Irlen Syndrome” (light sensitivity), and is equipped to provide modifications to reduce the visual distortions and discomfort that occur with light sensitivity. She enjoys using Brain Gym techniques, the MORE Program to strengthen the “suck, swallow, breathe” synchrony, the “Alert Program for Self-Regulation”, and current frames of reference in the use of play as a therapeutic tool, and sensory integration therapy. Susan combines the above treatment modalities in a manner that assists individual clients gain in their functional abilities and self-esteem, in a positive and encouraging environment. .
